teamcity - How to choose branches from snapshot dependencies in custom builds -


the tc docs imply can choose branch in custom build dialog branches appear in snapshot-dependencies, cannot work.

in fact list of branches see neither appears build configuration, nor snapshot-dependency. docs imply branch tags show in ui if have branches in snapshot-dependency, don't unless attach same vcs root.

in "triggering custom build" says:

from 8.x docs:

if have branches in build configuration (or in snapshot dependencies of build configuration), can choose branch used custom build in dialog.

from 9.x docs:

the build branch drop-down, available if have branches in build configuration (or in snapshot dependencies of build configuration), allows choosing branch used custom build.

both imply branches snapshot dependencies should show in run custom build dialog. don't. after playing around while, can pretty branch tags appear in ui if dependant project has same vcs root attached (even though doesn't use source in build steps).

is bug or misunderstanding tc?

i'm using tc 9.1, git/branch specifications.
