Azure: What exactly does "limit" mean? -

i asked question here in comments, didn't received answer - maybe because blog old & not many read it. have visual studio premium msdn - subscription. can answer?

edit: actual question: limit = fixed billing? have limit of 350 cores: there difference in billing if use 1 core or 350 cores? question 2: why in limit overview no webapp or sql db limit? can create unlimited amount of it? have pay each 1 create?

is limit = fixed billing?

no, limit not equal fixed billing. billing based on consumption while limit defines quota.

to take example, have limit of 350 cores. means can consume 350 cores in subscription. billed number of cores consume (e.g. if consume 10 cores, billed 10 cores only).

when comes limits, there soft limits , there hard limits. soft limits default limits on subscription when sign azure subscription. can soft limits increased contacting support. hard limits limits in azure subscription can't exceed. example, there's hard limit of 100 storage accounts per subscription. can't go beyond 100 storage accounts. if need more storage accounts, have purchase new subscription.
