java - Why would the same program running on Linux show different data when running on Windows? -

this may seem bit vague i'm having strange dilemma code , looking ideas may cause.

i have java program has been running in linux, receiving data down ethernet connection using udp , plotting on graph. data correct.

when run exact same program, using exact same cable on windows graph data different, follows same pattern there spikes , isn't correct.

i'm looking ideas may problem , how solve them if possible please?

my initial thoughts are:

  • packets getting lost due firewall on windows machine
  • numbers being processed / calculated differently on linux compared windows

thank you!
