Remove text before last specified special character in Excel -


i've got list of categories in breadcrumb trail, , need extract latest category.

below sample of list, , need category after last /, or if there no /, category. following turn below.

use substitute function create large gap of spaces @ forward slashes peel off right end , use trim function clean up.

=trim(right(substitute(a1, "/", rept(" ", 999)), 999))

fill down necessary.

        substitute right , trim
