php - Wordpress Issues renaming IMG folder -


i have problem wordpress update. have /blog/ folder in /public.html folder laying wordpress install. have posts category "blog" , when update wordpress site breaks. there confrontation between 2 guess. i've fixed problem .htaccess file on wp update .htaccess gets overwriten , problem comes again. need find way rename /blog/ folder without loosing links or having re-upload again. /blog/ folder contains img uploads used posts in blog.

tldr: have folder named blog in wp directory , category blog both dont along well. need rename blog (folder) without having re-upload images. 5 years worth of img uploading.
